October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Each year, approximately one million pregnancies in the U.S. end in miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of the newborn child. Lakewood Health System hosts a special ceremony to acknowledge these painful losses and provide comfort to families each year.
Those who have been touched by a pregnancy or infant loss are invited to a ceremony of dedication and remembrance on Monday, October 2. The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on the lower level of Lakewood’s Main Campus in Staples (49725 Cty. 83).
The nondenominational ceremony will include a vocal performance, time for reflection, a message from Lakewood chaplain, Pastor Paul Johnson, luminary lighting, and a special water service at the Serenity Sanctuary fountain.
Whether your loss is recent or was experienced in the past, all—parents, family and friends—are invited to attend. For more information, please call 218-894-8525 or 218-894-8505.
